Podcast Episode 21: Dr. Paul Hessburg and the ‘Era of Megafires’ is launching a community revolution
This episode features Dr.Paul Hessburg of the Pacific Northwest Research institute in Wenatchee. Dr. Hessburg is traveling throughout North central Washington and the region delivering the Era of Megafires presentation that highlights the causes and significant risks of our wildfire challenge. But it also proposes ways that we can solve this challenge by collaboration. Everyone has a role to play — land owners, neighborhood associations, cities, counties, conservation organizations and state and federal land managers.
This presentation, which was created in conjunction with North 40 Productions and the work or photographer John Marshall, has become the catalyst for critical conversation in communities to address the critical wildfire issues that threaten our communities, economy and the lands that we love.
Solving this challenge is possible if we work together. It’s a perfect example of creative community building.
