Podcast Episode 18: Donni Reddington and the Ride4Alzheimers motorcycle sidecar tour with her father

This week’s guest is Donni Reddington, a recovery room nurse at Confluence Health who is preparing for the Ride4Alzheimers, a motorcycle tour with her father, Don Reddington, who was diagnosed with the condition about three years ago. Don Reddington and his family have chosen to deal with this condition in a highly public way. Donni Reddington will be driving and her father will be in the side car starting July 4 in Twisp for a tour that will take them to Bellingham, Seattle, Tacoma, Olym;pia, Yakima and Spokane before finishing at Pybus Public Market in Wenatchee.

Don Reddington has kept active since he has been diagnosed with Alzheimers – riding horses and mountain bikes, for example. Keeping him engaged and active, his daughter tells me, has been a key part of keeping his spirits up through this very difficult situation. We talk about how difficult the diagnosis has been for her to deal with, the resilience of her family, and the excitement about the upcoming trip. Don Reddington is a retired CPA who went on to use his financial expertise to be an expert witness. His career took him from the Seattle area, to Wenatchee and then Spokane. He and his wife, Ginger, a retired art teacher and gifted artist who’s works are frequently shown throughout North Central Washington, live in the Twisp area.
